Millions of dollars alleged in losses to Honduras because of coffee-smuggling to Guatemala

Honduran coffee contraband to Guatemala is causing millions of dollars worth of losses for Honduras, said Edgar Murillo, mayor of the Honduran municipality of Lepaera.

Murillo said thousands of bags of Honduran coffee are taken to Guatemala through blind spots on the border.

The problem adds to Honduran exporters' difficulties with storage.
