Panama’s construction industry proclaimed itself ready to work at peak capacity on the ambitious public works program announced by the new administration of President Ricardo Martinelli.

The construction of a metro in Panama City, affordable housing projects and the ongoing Panama Canal expansion are the main challenges that the nation’s industry faces over the next five years.

Leading cement companies Cemex and Cemento Panamá are investing heavily to expand their production.
