Panamanian minister says free trade accord with Canada is only weeks away

The Panamanian administration of Ricardo Martinelli is trying to get as many trade agreements as possible in order to boost the economy, says the vice-minister of Commerce, Ricardo Quijano.

“Currently we are discussing the final detail of the free trade agreement with Canada and it is expected that will be ready for signature over the next few weeks,” said the vice-minister.

On tagreement with the United States, Quijano said that due to the way the American Congress operates the document is on standby.
