June figures show that inflation in Costa Rica is the lowest since 2002

The Costa Rican inflation rate for June was 0.17 percent, bringing the accumulated inflation to 1.21 percent in the first half of the year, down from 6.55 percent in the same period of 2008.

Inflation rate for the last 12 months is 8.2 percent, the lowest since 2002.

The central bank is predicting an annual inflation rate of between 7 and 9 percent for 2009.
