An International Monetary Fund mission is scheduled to visit Honduras next week.

The mission revise the government’s macroeconomic figures and its other commitments with the lending agency.

Rebeca Santos, the finance minister, said that Honduras would also be seeking an extension of its stand-by agreement with the fund, which includes promises to increase tariffs for electricity and telecommunications.

The agreement contemplates the possibility that the government might have to devalue the national currency in certain circumstances.

Honduras signed the accord with the Fund on April 8. An extension would run through the end of this year.
