
Representatives of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) asked the authorities in Honduras to ensure the security of tourists when they visit places of interest and go on shopping trips.
The FCCA executives have been holding their annual convention on the island of Roatán. The convention wraps up tomorrow at the Copán archaeological site, where there will be a meeting with ministers of the Central American Tourism Council.
Tourism earnings in Honduras have risen steadily to $620 million a year. Only in-bond assembly plants (maquilas) and family remittances earn more for the country.
