Colombia's economy faces third quarter slowdown

Friday, December 21, 2012

Colombia's economy grew just 2.1 per cent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year.

The drag was caused by an acute slowdown in the construction sector as well as sluggish manufacturing.

The growth pace was not only much slower than the 7.5 per cent expansion in the same quarter last year, but it was also the weakest in three years.
