Denmark announces withdrawal of $18 million in cooperation with Nicaragua

Denmark formally announced the withdrawal of $18 million aid for a program to support democracy in Nicaragua.

The decision was based on the decision by President Daniel Ortega to ban foreign observers for the presidential elections in November.

As a result of Denmark’s decision, the last payments that form part of the program will be made at the end of this year.
