El Salvador rating placed on creditwatch negative

Ratings agency Standard and Poor’s placed El Salvador’s 'B+/B' rating placed on creditwatch negative.
The view was based on deteriorating financial management and heightened political polarization. Failure to agree on fiscal, other reforms that help stabilize El Salvador's access to liquidity and contain its debt burden could lead to downgrade, the agency added.
