Thursday, February 21, 2019

Mexican trade unions are toping to achieve wage rises of up to 20 percent, based on the increase in the minimum wage that was raised sharply at the beginning of the year.

Even an 8 percent increase would amount to three points more than was granted under existing agreements during las year.

A strike by 45 assembly plants in the border city of Matamoros showed the unions that it was possible to raise the minimum wage by 16.2 percent in the region close to the US border.
