Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto sent a long-awaited fiscal reform bill to Congress Sunday.
The reform seeks to modernize state oil company Pemex's fiscal system, and decrease the country's dependency on oil revenue.
Peña Nieto also proposed a 10 percent tax on capital gains made by the sales of shares in the Mexican stock exchange, as well as leaving out a controversial tax on staple foods and medicine.
