Nicaraguan sees growth in shrimp exports
Thursday, December 5, 2013
Nicaragua's shrimp exports represent 3 percent of the country's total exports this year, according to the country's exports authority, known as CEL.
International prices have gone up, and are expected to continue to rise due to shrimp Early Mortality Syndrome affecting Asia, said CEL researcher Luz Marina Arana.
Spain is the main destination for Nicaraguan shrimp, with exports worth $18 million up to October this year.
