Tax evaders cost Nicaragua's economy $1.4 billion

Tax evasion and subsidies cost Nicaraua $933 million in 2010, 12.4 percent of grow domestic product.

Specialists say that the increase could be greater by now, and more than the budgets for education or public health.

One specialist says that last year the tax dodgers and government exemptions cost 14 percent of GDP, or $1.4 billion.
