$1 billion to be invested in building hotels in Panama

More than $1 billion is to be invested by hotel franchises, both international and local, in Panama through 2013.

Chains such as Marriott, Trump, Sheraton and Hilton are already established in the country but are all looking to expand.

Much of the investment is being made by Panamanians supported by international franchises, but some chains are using their own funds.
