A vote costs more in Guatemala’s campaign than in the United States

Guatemala’s political parties end up paying an average of $3.33 for each vote in the presidential elections.\

That compares with only 14 US cents for each vote in Chile and more than the $2.86 that it costs in the United States.\
\
The Acción Ciudadana citizens’ group reports that the political parties spent $15 million in six weeks in the area around Guatemala City.\
