Aeromexico offers four flights a day between Mexico City and Guatemala

Aeromexico started up operations Monday in Guatemala, offering four flights a day between the capitals of the two countries as part of the carrier’s international expansion plan, which will entail an investment of some $1.3 billion over the next two years.

The daily flights, two from Guatemala City to Mexico City and two from Mexico City to Guatemala City on separate schedules, will be offered on state-of-the-art Boeing 737s.

Rival Mexican carrier Interjet began offering a daily flight last Friday between Guatemala City and Mexico City, and it plans to add a second daily flight on July 18.
