Agriculture dominates Nicaraguan economy

Nicaragua is the only Central American country where the main source of gross domestic product is agriculture.

The rest of the countries have started to depend more on manufacturing industry, according to a study by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In 2011, 20 percent of Nicaragua's gross domestic product came from agriculture.
