Airline ticket prices need to be slashed: Hernández

Thursday, February 14, 2019

The open skies policy needs to reduce the prices charged by airlines in Central America, said Juan Orlando Hernández, president of Honduras.

Hernández was talking after a meeting with members of the Central American Parliament on matters of mutual interest.

He said that it appeared absurd that a ticket from San Pedro Sula, the business capital of Honduras, to Houston is very much cheaper than one to Managua, Nicaragua.

The ticket to Houston costs $365, while one to Managua is $820.
