At last... Salvadoran legislators seal urgently needed fiscal pact

Legislators who back the government of El Salvador and the opposition cast of their differences to reach a pact that aims to resolve the impending crisis in the nation’s finances.
The pact came just when El Salvador was on the brink of failing to meet a key payment on $500 million in bonds. The US ambassador hailed the “white smoke” follkowing a conclave between legislators of the leftwing FMLN and the rightwing Arena.
