Avianca named best airline in Central America

Colombia's Avianca won the awards for best airline and best staff in Central America and the Caribbean at the Skytrax 2014 awards.

For the awards, Skytrax polled some 18 million passengers from 105 countries in aspects such as airline websites, cleanliness, on-board entertainment, waiting times at airports and the quality of food and drinks on-board.

Avianca reported a 4.4 percent growth in the number of passengers it transported in the first four months of the year, compared with the same period last year.
