Banco Azteca plans expansion in El Salvador

Banco Azteca, a firm owned by Mexico's Grupo Salinas, has been operating in El Salvador for four years and has a client base in the country of some 350,000, said Luis Niño Rivera, president of the company for El Salvador.

He said the bank, which specializes in lower income customers, has 55 branches in the country and expects to continue growing.

"We get 85,000 new clients each year on average, and we are always looking for opportunities to open new branches," he said.
