Bayer finds solution to banana disease using research in tropical fruit unit

The banana industry will have a new biological product to control nematodes, organisms that cause severe damage to productivity.

It is Bioact, a biological nematicide developed by German companies Bayer and Prophyta.

Bioact's development process was rigorous. Since 2002, studies have been conducted in German laboratories and in Costa Rica, where Bayer validates, for the rest of the world, its new products for bananas and pineapples.
