Beer production in Panama up 6 percent

Panama produced more than 178.8 million litres of beer in the first eight months of the year, according to government figures.

The number represents a 6 percent increase compared with the same period last year, and is Panama's most consumed alcoholic beverage.

Government statistics show that wine is the least popular alcoholic beverage in Panama.
