Belarus and Guatemala aim to boost cooperation

Further steps to expand Belarusian-Guatemalan cooperation were discussed in Moscow on 15 January at a meeting of Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Mr Igor Petrishenko with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Guatemala to Russia Mr Estuardo Meneses Coronado.

The sides discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian spheres and other ones. During the talks other matters of mutual interest were raised.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Guatemala were established on 11 March 1993. In 2011 the mutual trade totaled $20.5 million, with Belarus’ export to Guatemala at $19.4 million and import at $1.1 million.
