Best in Latin America: Costa Rica

For a commitment to global disarmament and environmental protection, Costa Rica is the Latin American country, which most contributes to global welfare, according to the Good Country Index, published last week.
The list classifies 125 countries around the world, in areas such as science, culture, security, prosperity, equality, health and wellness.
Guatemala ranked 29th in the world, while Honduras at 94th place was the lowest-ranked country in Central America.
Nicaragua was not included in the study.
Globally, first place went to Ireland, while Libya finished last (figures in parentheses refer to the position of each Central American country in the global index).
