Bids invited for management of Puerto Cortés

Some of the world's largest port companies have shown interest in a tender by the Honduran government to manage Puerto Cortés, on the Caribbean coast.

Among the companies interested are China's Hutchison Port Holdings, Denmark's AP Møller-Mærsk, Dubai Ports World, Spain's Terminal de Contenedores de Barcelona and France's Grupo Bolloré.

The Honduran government will start reviewing each company's bids in February next year, and expects to hand over management of the port to the chosen company by 2014.
