Bloodshed is big burden on economies, says regional bank

The Inter-American Development said that the Central American economies are in for a good year.

But it warned that crime is taking a high toll on growth, as are rising prices of food and oil.

Luis Alberto Moreno, president of the bank, said that violence is costing between five and eight percentage points of the gross domestic product of Central American countries.
