Bogotá loses competitiveness without subway

Thursday, October 3, 2013

Colombia's capital city, Bogotá, is one of Latin America's most important cities without a subway system, which in turn affects its competitiveness.

Quito, Ecuador, will inaugurate its subway in June 2016, while Panama will have its Metro ready by August next year.

"Bogotá needs a subway system that integrates to the rest of the public transport system, 60 years of talks without results is too much," said Jorge Marín, vice-president of the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure.
