Borrowing money? Panama is best

In Central America, Panama has the best conditions for getting credit from a bank, according to the latest edition of the Global Competitiveness Index, published by the World Economic Forum.

Panama ranks 12th worldwide in a list of 144 countries, thanks to low unemployment, as well as good economic conditions overall.

Costa Rica placed last in the region and 111th in the world.

The overall list is led by Qatar, while Burundi ranks last (figures in parentheses refer to the global position of each Central American country).
