Bosses and leaders of government-supporting unions to set new wage in Nicaragua

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Talks on a new minimum wage for Nicaragua are due to begin today and are expected to reach a conclusion soon.

Both the nation’s bosses and the unions that support the government appear to be agreed on a six-monthly increase of less than two digits.

Private-sector leaders seem to be willing to accept the unions proposal of a 16 percent increase for the whole of the year.
