Brazil postpones cooperation because of political problems in Panama. Agreement of $1.7 million to be postponed

Friday, September 2, 2011

The split in Panama’s ruling coalition is beginning to have repercussions. Signature of a $1.7 million technical cooperation agreement with Brazil has been postponed.

The telecommunications department of the Brazilian delegation argued that the decision was due to “Panama’s internal political situation”.

Brazil’s aid agency described the projects as priorities for Panama, including plans to improve training for personnel.
