Breakwater Resources settles with Honduras mine workers over their new contract

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Copper and zinc producer Breakwater Resources said it finalized a new contract for workers at the Mochito mine in Honduras, almost three months after the previous contract expired.

The contract was renewed for three years, effective from Oct. 1, the miner said in a statement.

Earlier in October, workers at the Toqui mine in southern Chile had gone on strike after wage talks broke off, and employee contracts at both Toqui and Mochito mines had expired.
