Builders want to double cost of Canal expansion

 

The compensation claimed by the consortium that is building the expansion of the Panama Canal would double the project’s original cost.

The job is about 96 percent done, both the consortium and the Canal authority agree, but the consortium is aiming to delay the already postponed completion by a further six months unless it meets its claims.
