Business leaders urge more regional integration

Monday, September 17, 2012

Representatives of the Central American private sector say much more regional integration is required to improve the outlook for jobs and investment.

"We need progress in integration. There's a lot of institutions that are meant to create integration but it's hard to see the fruits of their labors," said Mario González, president of the Central American chambers of commerce.

The formation of a customs union would enormously improve trade conditions, the leaders say.
