Buyers swarm to buy Nicaraguan sugar

Buyers from Spain, Portugal, Italy, the UK and Germany are among those interested in buying Nicaraguan sugar in an upcoming auction on August 19.

The sugar auction is part of the newly signed association accord between Europe and Central America.

Nicaragua's sugar producer's committee said there are currently some 32 buyers confirmed to participate in the auction.
