Canada aims to invest in Central American geothermal power and hydroelectricity

The Costa Rican foreign minister, René Castro, and the secretary of state of Canada, Peter Kent recently discussed Canada potentially investing in the Central American country to enable it to develop a number of renewable energy projects.
 
Several Canadian companies are involved in geothermal projects in Latin American countries.
 
The Central America nations are also looking at increasing the use of hydropower to diminish their dependency on oil when it comes to generating electricity.
