Canada unveils $8 billion aid package to Nicaragua

Canada announced a new $8 million aid package for rural development and food security in Nicaragua.

The announcement was made by Canada’s Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Diane Ablonczy, who was in Managua this week to meet with her Nicaraguan counterparts.

Ablonczy’s visit to Nicaragua, part of her four-country tour of Central and South America, was the first by a Canadian Cabinet minister since 2009.
