Canal forecast to earn Panama $2.8 billion

The Budget Commission of Panama’s National Assembly approved the budget of the Panama Canal Authority for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which begins in September.

According to the commission’s estimates, the Authority will generate income of $2.8 billion. This will be the first year that the expansion is fully operational.
