Carlos Slim’s FCC expands in Central America

FCC, a global construction group based in Spain that is majority owned by Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim, won a contract for the construction of an oil storage terminal on Panama's Atlantic coast, the company announced last month. The contract, which FCC will share with Felguera IHI, a Spanish fuel storage company, was awarded by Royal Vopak, an independent tank storage provider for the oil and chemical industry.
"The implementation of this industrial project strengthens our strategic positioning in Central America, which is an important business hub for the company, the anouncement said.
