Central America received record investment

Foreign direct investment to Central America rose to a record high in 2013, according to the United Nation's intergovernmental agency, UNCTAD.

Central America received $48 billion last year, 92 percent more than in 2012.

The Central American region and the Caribbean were the main recipients of foreign investment last year, while flows to South America dropped 7 percent.
