Central America worried about Pacific Pact

The Central American garment industry has shown concern over the United States becoming a member of the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement, TPP.

If the U.S. signs the agreement, it could cause the Central American sector to lose 100,000 jobs, said El Salvador's Ambassador to the United States, Rubén Zamora.

The main concern is that with the agreement, Vietnam would be allowed to purchase raw materials from China and export tax-free to the U.S.
