Central American bank lends $45 million for projects including ‘dry canal’ in Honduras

Thursday, July 15, 2010

The Central American Bank of Economic Integration loaned the Honduran government $45 million for building highways and rural infrastructure.

The bank said that $30 million will be invested in expanding a 50- kilometer highway between Villa de San Antonio in central Honduras and Goascoran in the south.

The highway will facilitate a “dry canal” logistics thoroughfare from the south to the north of the country, and then on to El Salvador and Nicaragua.
