Central American coffee exports show mixed results

Figures for Central American coffee exports in November show contrasts, as Honduras shows considerable growth, while Costa Rica reports a decline.

Honduras exported 87 percent more coffee than November last year, while Costa Rican sale dropped almost 38 percent.

However, the Honduran coffee institute, known as Ihcafé, warns that production next year could fall due to an outbreak of roya, or leaf rust disease, which affects the crops.
