Central American legislators seek open-skies accord

Manolo Pichardo, president of Central American parliament has proposed that the region's governments should adopt an open-skies aviation policy.

The measure would reduce the cost of air travel and related services while promoting tourism.

The open-skies initiative has been warmly welcomed in Costa Rica and El Salvador, while Nicaragua is also interested.
