Central American water-melon exports surge

Last year through September, Central America exported 172,000 tons of fresh watermelon worth $43 million. This volume is 17 percent higher than the 147,000 tons exported in the same period of 2015, which generated $35 million.
 

Honduras was the leading exporte, followed by Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
