China lends $300 million for Patuca III dam in Honduras

By the end of 2014, Honduras will be ready to bring on stream the Patuca III hydroelectric dam.

The 104 megawatts project will be the nation’s second largest, following the 300 megawatts of El Cajón.

Finance for the project has been approved by China’s Eximbank. Patuca III is one of three hydroelectric projects that are planned to generate 524 megawatts from an investment of $1.3 billion.
