Chinchilla aims for logistics hub for Chinese firms

President Laura Chinchilla of Costa Rica, who arrived in Shanghai on Sunday for a week-long visit to China, told Mayor Han Zheng that Costa Rica could be a logistic platform in the Western Hemisphere for Chinese companies.

Costa Rica hopes to expand cooperation with Shanghai in investment, trade, clean energy, education and tourism, she told Han.

Chinchilla highlighted Costa Rica's position, including rich human resources and free trade agreements linked with major world economies.
