China's HK, headquartered in Hong Kong, could be the company in charge of building Nicaragua's Inter-Oceanic Canal, said the country's president, Daniel Ortega.
Ortega plans to build the canal through Lake Nicaragua, the largest in Central America, instead of using the San Juan river after a long territorial dispute with Costa Rica.
Investment for the project is estimated at $40 billion, and includes the construction of ports, airplane landing strips and an oil pipeline.
