Friday, March 23, 2012

Cellular phone companies Claro, a unit of Mexico's América Móvil, and Movistar, subsidiary of Spain's Telefónica, are expanding their coverage in Costa Rica's highways.

The companies have four years to complete the works, which will improve reception throughout the country.

Movistar claims it covers 70 percent of the country's main highways, while Claro has tripled its coverage, offering its services in 80 percent of the country's 473 districts.
