Clean, low-cost natural gas aims to launch a Central America revolution
Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Natural gas has arrived in Central America, thanks to AES Panama and Engie of France. Meanwhile Energía del Pacífico is waiting its turn to follow suit in El Salvador.
The first load of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was delivered to the $1.1 billion regasification project and power plant at AES Colon.
Natural gas costs much less than oil and is much cleaner and more environmentally friendly, analysts say.
